In October, 2003, GT Morstroy completed the construction of the berthing facility of a grain terminal in Azov.
The berth is 145 meters long. The design depth at the quay apron is 5.5 meters.
The quay represents an anchored bulkhead with a face wall of steel sheet pile AU-20. The front wall is anchored by metal anchors with a diameter of 75 mm made of steel StЗsp behind the reinforced concrete anchor plates.
The quay provides for the submachine ways of the loading machine with a track of 10.5 meters on a supported base.
The berth is equipped with mooring bollards designed for a force of 25 tf and fenders made of automobile tires.
In order to reduce the difference in water levels in the water area and behind the sheet pile wall with a sharp drop in sea level, drainage devices are provided in the sheet pile wall.
Taking into account the possibility of subsidence of the newly formed bulk territory and the presence of tracks on the ballast-base, the territory is covered with prefabricated reinforced concrete plates.
Putting the berth into operation ensured the possibility of receiving vessels of Volga-Don type of 5150 tons DW.
