Purpose: Increase of the complex turnover.
The works on the quay refitting were carried out in three stages:
- The FIRST STAGE included equipping of quay No. 112C (99) with two stander installations, two fender and mooring posts, two bow and one stern mooring devices, as well as energy-consuming fenders on the entire quayside.
The selected decisions enabled to receive and handle tankers with deadweight up to 25 thousand tons already in 1997, as well as to refit quay No. 112c (99) without taking quay No. 112 from operation.
- The SECOND STAGE provided for the installation of a temporary fender and mooring post, two shore mooring devices and equipping the quay 112b for floating intermediate piece fastening.
Oil products were transferred to tankers via flexible pipelines from existing stander installations.
The implementation of this stage in 1998 enabled the complex to operate continuously for the period of new quay No.112a construction and to process simultaneously two tankers with a deadweight of 15 thousand tons or one tanker with a deadweight of 30 thousand tons.
- The THIRD STAGE was carried out in 2000 after the completion of quay No. 112a construction, and included the construction of additional fender and mooring posts, coastal mooring device, and strengthening of the breakwalls of quay No. 112a for receiving tankers with a deadweight of 70,000 tons.
The work on the quays refitting enabled to use the structures and equipment of the existing quay to the maximum extent and significantly increase the moored ships deadweight, as well as to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the complex during the new quay construction at low costs for retrofitting.
